Our Strength in FRP Container Production is Utilized in Our Advanced Freezer Development and Technological Research

  • Topre is also actively trying to reduce the four “substances of concern” (SOCs) according to the Japan Auto-Body Industries Association plan. In addition, we have established Topre’s own guidelines based on a voluntary action plan to treat end-of-life Refrigerated Vehicles appropriately.

One feature of Topre’s Refrigerated Vehicles is the use of FRP as a container panel. FRP is reinforced plastic combined with glass fiber, which has higher thermal insulation compared with metal (aluminum). Topre manufactures both FRP and aluminum containers, in keeping with its large national share. We are pursuing the research and development of thermal control equipment, considering the need for compatibility with the growing number of hybrid cars and the long-anticipated battery cars. Topre is actively advancing , not content to settle with the current technology.

Refrigerated Vehicles with Idole Stop Engines and Battery-Operated Freezers

  • Also, our novel freezing plate, developed by Topre in 1968, is recapturing the industry’s attention as cooling equipment combined with an engine-operated mechanical freezer. This freezing plate prevents the temperature from rising by releasing cold air from the board even while the engine-operated mechanical cooler is not in operation.

The biggest challenge in today’s engineering industry is ensuring and improving products’ eco-friendliness. Japan’s first GBS (generator battery system)-assisted freezer, developed by Topre, keeps freezers operating with dedicated batteries - even during idling of the automotive engine. Our freezers contribute to energy savings and exhaust reduction.

Environmental-Friendliness and User-Friendliness

The key word for Topre’s Refrigerated Vehicles is “consideration” ….for the environment, but also for end-users. As the end-user population expands to include female and senior drivers, it is natural to make alterations in automotive components, such as increased accessibility and operability in doors and hatches. Environmental-friendliness and user-friendliness will be the key for our Refrigerated Vehicles development.
